"Before one dismisses the Athena Doctrine as a touchy-feely new age business fad, observe closely the opening to the 2013 Apple Developer’s conference. This introduction is an excellent example of the Athena Doctrine rolled into a simple advertisement. ”

JAPAN: COLLAGE ART & ANIMATION: TAKAHIRO KIMURA

Takahiro is a Japanese painter, graphic designer and illustrator. He has developed a mesmerizing style of collage art which “strives to show the complicated nature of the human spirit through peculiar physical distortions.”

Kimura has a particular interest in faces, although I’ve chosen to feature the series above from his RE-BORN project which seeks to recreate and animate different classics. The awkward beauty of his aesthetic weaves perfectly through the madhouse world of Alice in Wonderland.

View more of Takahiro’s series here and find more from Mango Popsicle on Facebook.
